Annie married James Roadknight, they had eight children. James was killed in a quarry accident in 1892. Annie brought up her children alone in the family home in Johnsonville the residence built by Frederick Smith, father of Annie. She took in boarders and also ran the Post Office in a building next to her home. The homestead is still in good repair today.
