Front cover advertises Mariwari Ceylon Tea. Rear cover advertises Robt. Harper & Co. 'Empire' cocoa essence. Advertisements are examples of nineteenth century advertising and illustrate the use of books to cross-promote a range of products.

Summary

The novel, comprising twelve sections or "books", is set during the Wars of the Roses, and focuses on the power struggle between King Edward IV and the Earl of Warwick, known to history as "Warwick the Kingmaker".
