The Hercules Mine was at Long Gully. It had a depth of 2383 feet ; 113,049 ounces of gold was obtained from the mine. Albert Richardson was a President of the Bendigo Historical Society. He had a great interest in the history of the Bendigo goldfield. A reserve in Marong Road, adjoining Victoria Hill mine precint, is named in honour of Albert and his contribution to recording the history of Bendigo.
