Photo shows J class No. 77 westbound in Dandenong Road at the intersection with Hawthorn Road. Tram has the route number "8" and is in the PMTT form. In the background is the tram stop shelter, the Church of Christ, a private bus and another tram in the far distance. Note the lone cyclist on the north side of Dandenong Road. There is a tram stop sign on the pole at the points for Hawthorn Road. The private bus is a Kintrak Motors service. It commenced on 15 March 1924, running between Caulfield Station and the City via Dandenong and St Kilda Roads. The service ceased on 31 January 1925 when the Government cracked down on pirate operators.
