Historical information
The photograph shows PCC class tram No. 1041 turning from Bourke St into Spring St. The tram has the dark brown stripe on the lower edge and door signs, indicating that the photo is possibly late 1973 or early 1974. It is running a route 96 East Brunswick service. Most likely a MMTB photo but no stamp on the rear. The tram is on display at the Melbourne Tram Museum.
Significance
Yields information about PCC class tram 1041, the prototype for the future Z class tram.
