Physical description

Attended by His Worship the Mayor of Port Melbourne, Councillor Perce WHITE J.P., the Freedom of Entry celebration took place om Saturday 21st August 1982. The ceremony conferred the city's 'Distinction and Privilege' of the freedom of entry to HMAS Lonsdale. The ceremony included a naval march up Bay Street and a Mayoral inspection of the contingent.
