The photo shows tram No. 12 with a destination of Grey St Sebastopol southbound in Lydiard St North, with tram 21 following. There are two other trams partially hidden behind No. 12, which has a Twin Lakes sign. In the background are the Provincial Hotel, the railway gates and Victoria House. Photo late 1960s. Photographer not known.

Significance

Yields information about tram traffic in Ballarat, and the use of Lydiard St North. Possilby three of the trams are for special use, picking up passengers at the station.

Black and white photograph, laminated with a label with black velcro strips on the rear.

Inscriptions & markings

Label - printed - "Lydiard Street North looking towards the railway crossing during the 1960's. The Building "Victoria House" now demolished is shown across the rail tracks from the "Provincial Hotel". Four trams are showing in this photo. Has the National Trust, Ballarat stamp on the rear.
