Mtg held with reference to letter, dated 8/06/1967, from A.J. Watts Town Clerk addressed to Mrs. R. Adams, Bendigo Branch National Trust re: the Bendigo City Council that:
a) as from 1st September 1960 all new verandahs erected across a footway, must be of the cantilever type
b) all non-cantilever type verandahs, erected across a footway, must be demolished before 31st December 1970.
The trust has been asked for "its views on the desirability of retaining any post type verandahs which it considers worthy of preservation". Mr. Peter Single ton, Architect, and representing the Survey & Identification Committee of the Trust attended the meeting to give guidance in the preparation of such report to the City Council.
