3097.15A 16/07/1972 National Trust letter to owners (Salter & Reid) re the demolition of the post and cast-iron verandah at their recent acquired property in McCrae Street, Bendigo. "The verandah was classified by the National Trust and in consequence was granted demolition exemption by the Bendigo City Council. In the view of the Trust the discarding of the verandah has been inopportune and unfortunate".
3097.15B 6/10/1972 National Trust letter to the licensee of the Queen's Arms Hotel noting the Hotel is not classified by the Trust, so we do not have an immediate interest. However, offering to support any submission to assist in classifying the review and protection of the verandah to the hotel. Noting Trust's preference foe post-supported verandah. Referring the letter to the Benigo Branch.
