Mining journal information was recorded in ink. Blotting paper was required to ensure that the ink was dry.

Cream coloured blotting paper, bi-fold, two copies. Printed on front: ' Records, 100 yards sprint' Records of Jesse Owens, Frank Wyhoff and J.A. Carlton recorded. 'Devon Valley 431 Mill, Blotting Paper'. Drawing of man running, dressed in shorts and singlet on left hand side of blotter... 'From start to finish Devon Valley beats all records' on bottom right of blotter.
Blotter was located in a mining journal in the Margaret Roberts Collection.
