In 1987 work began to demolish the two blocks of flats facing Glenferrie Road, making way for the new Vision Resource Centre. Footballer Robert DiPierdomenico visited the site and swung a sledgehammer at a door of the flats, upon which was illustration of a Hawthorn Hawk (his team).
