Tilly Aston was born in Carisbrook in 1873, and came to the Royal Victorian Institute for the Blind in 1882. She was a singer, a scholar, a teacher, a poetess, the first blind woman to begin university and a founding member of the Victorian Association of Braille Writers and the Association for the Advancement of the Blind. In this autobiography, read by Pamela Adams, recollects her path from childhood to older years, with some of her poems included.
