Historical information
The Lakes Entrance Regional Historical Society held a shipwrecks exhibition in the Coast Guard building during the month of January 2025. Twenty five banner were produced for the display telling the stories of shipwrecks along the East Gippsland coast. The exhibition was well attended and enjoyed by many. The Orbost and Mallacoota Historical Societies have displayed part of the exhibition during 2025 and it is expected to be displayed at Paynesville in February and March 2026.
