Historical information

Set of three photographs of the first big depot shunt - swapping a bogie car from No. 3 road which had both 38 and 40 placed onto it with a single trucker in order to give more working space in the depot. This took place after the completion of the depot fan sufficiently to enable this, including the installation of the former Lydiard St crossover. Has trams 26, 27 and 40 in the photo. It took a lot of winching with the tree puller on 10/2/1973.

Significance

Yields information about the shunting of trams on the BPTS depot fan in order to give more working space in the depot.
