Historical information

Film shows the renovation works, both the interior and exterior, of the National Wool Centre being constructed in 1987-1988 in the Dennys Lascelles building on Moorabool Street, Geelong.

On 1 August 1872 the CJ Dennys & Co Woolstore opened, adorning the corner of Moorabool and Brougham Streets, Geelong. At the time of opening, the basalt bluestone woolstore was the second largest store in Victoria.

In 1988 the National Wool Centre was opened in the same building.
