The photograph shows the construction of tram track in Nicholson St Fitzroy, looking south. There are two rail clamps set up to enable the welding of the rail, a concrete mixer and work site protection barriers and lights. See item 8955 for a cable tram track demolition photo. Photo taken during 1955, the new line to East Brunswick was opened in April 1956.
