Physical description

Brass base of an artillery shell 30 mm high with 20cal inert bullet inserted in the upright in the igniter column. with the brass projectile. Attached to the ignition tube is a Army rising sun miniature badges. there 3 slots made to hold a cigarette.

Inscriptions & markings

on the base of the case casing are the following stamped markings; 1041 indicating year of manufacture, 25PR indicating calibre of the shell - 25 pounder; CF indicating the propellent used - Cordite; Lot.373 - the lot number of the shell casing; RY-12-41 - identifying the maker of the propellant and date of manufacture (month and Year)
