Bendigo Advertiser article 14th March, 2000, , titled 'Miner settles dispute', describes the settlement of up to $2 million paid by Perseverance Gold Mine, Fosterville, to eleven 'disgruntled neighbours'. Managing Director, John Kelly, claims ' It's a huge disincentive to mining investment. We get all the proper permits, do the right thing and then get slugged with a million-dollar lawsuit'.
