Bendigo Advertiser newspaper article in the 'Weekender' supplement, 2nd. January 1999, 'Going for Gold'. Two page article on the operations of Bendigo Mining at the Kangaroo Flat site includes information on the construction of the decline, the use of the jumbo drill, use of dynamite, extraction of mullock and the potential to find gold. Colour photograph on the first page shows Bendigo Mining's Managing Director, Doug Buerger in the 30 metres box cut where the decline begins. On second page: 'Dollars - and jobs', discusses the expectations of the Company in finding gold and the (then) processes involved in treating the ore.
