'Bendigo Advertiser' article, 20th December, 1994, ' Mine veteran returns home'. Article describes the accident at the Central Deborah Gold Mine in August 1952, when Fred Yates was buried in an earth fall. When freed, he was carried out of the mine by his friend Alf Lowther. Black and white photo in article shows Fred Yates reading a book at the mine, reflecting 'on his years at the Central Deborah'.
