'Bendigo Advertiser' article, 14th. September, 1994, titled 'Mining trials tipped'. Peter Phillips, Bendigo Mining chairman, states that mining 'could restart on the Bendigo goldfield in the months ahead - not years'. Mr. Phillips was recruited to head Bendigo Mining following the acquisition by tycoons Kerry Packer and Sir James Goldsmith of 10 per cent share holdings'.
