The photograph shows VR tram No. 53 in St Kilda St, without crew, though a man and woman are walking up to the tram, possibly indicating the the photo was taken after the closure of the tramway south of Elwood depot - between 1957 and Feb. 1959 when the section to St Kilda station closed. In the background is a shop advertising Glen Valley Tea and a Beauty Salon.

Yields information about Victorian Railways tram No. 53 and the Elwood Depot terminus.
