Multidisciplinary artist Kylie Banyard celebrates the joy, vitality, and speculative possibilities of the creative act.
Saskia originated from a photograph Banyard captured of her visual arts student, Saskia van Pagee Anderson, during a spatial practice workshop at La Trobe University.
Banyard translated the photograph through an iterative printmaking process, merging the fluid, expressive brushmarks of an oil monotype with the bold, graphic lines of screen printing. The final composition hovers dynamically between figuration and abstraction.
