Rose Series postcard No. 4721, Elizabeth Street Melbourne looking south from Bourke Street. There are four W5 class trams in the photo, one running a route 20. On the left is London Stores, Wintner, Brash's, with Flinders Street Railway station visible. On the right is the State Savings Bank recently extended up to Bourke Street corner. The new MLC Building on the south west corner of Collins Street is the final stages of construction. It was completed in 1938. There are some people standing in the safety zone on the right hand side of the photograph.
