Historical information
From archeological findings of aboriginal existence in the 40,000 years ago, to European history evolving over four distinct stages. Firstly, as a pastoral area, then as a stopover on the way to the goldfields. After the goldrush, Keilor became an area of rural activities. From the 1950's, available land and employment opportunities brought new citizens to Keilor from many different cultural backgrounds. Keilor has retained its rural heritage whilst embracing the features of a modern municipality. This video illustrates why Keilor is called the "The Best Country in Town"
