Historical information
The Sunshine Ladies Bowling Club was a key part of Sunshine’s community sporting life, founded to give local women their own space in the traditionally male-dominated world of bowls. It operated alongside the Sunshine Bowling Club and other local associations, reflecting the growth of women’s sport in Victoria during the mid‑20th century.
The club was formed in 1926 and folded in the early 1990's, and these banners were donated alongside with many of the club's business records to the Sunshine and District Historical Society.
