Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia Video
A Mantle of Safety, from small beginnings in 1928, the Royal Flying Doctor Service has grown to become the largest, most comprehensive aeromedical service in the world.
The Service has grown from the dream of Rev. Dr. John Flynn who dreamt of bringing medical help to people living in Australia's vast Outback.
Today, John Flynn's Mantle of Safety covers more than 80% of Australia, bringing vital health care to people who live, work and travel in remote and rural Australia.
As well as emergency services, the RFDS provides a comprehensive health service through medical clinics and trains health care professionals.
This video shows the work of the RFDS NSW Section whose work extends John Flynn's Mantle of Safety right across Victoria, NSW, Tasmania and part of Queensland and South Australia, covering an area the size of Western Europe.
The lifesaving work of the Royal Flying Doctor Service would not be possible without the support the Service receives from State and Commonwealth Governments, businesses and the wider community.
