Historical information

The series of photos shows the February 1963 MMTB Float entered as part of the Moomba Festival which also coincided with a visit of Queen Elizabeth II. See item 8652 for a Certificate from the City of Melbourne recording the entry of the decorated float. In the background is the Continental Hotel on south-east corner of Lonsdale and Russell Street. This photo was used in the 1963 MMTB Annual Report. The other two show the float at Preston Workshops and the lady who featured on the float itself.
