The Melbourne and Metropolitan Tramways Board was formed in 1919. Uniforms were worn by the drivers and conductors - suit and cap. The cap donated is yet to have originality confirmed as there are queries concerning the badge, number and colour.

Physical description

Black cloth cap with vinyl peak. Black plastic strip across front. Metal button each end. Seven pairs of eyelets - crown section. Metal badge pinned through centre front pair. Metal number 279 below badge. No manufacturer's label on inside.
