A dedicated girls’ building opened in 1937 on Derby Road, expanding the original 1913 boys’ technical school into a co‑educational institution.
It was designed in a Moderne architectural style, a streamlined, interwar look that still stands out in Sunshine’s built heritage.
This photograph shows a rare view of the western elevation of this building.
