Child on old St Kilda "Red Rattler" train. The "Red Rattlers", or Tait trains, were red-painted trains that served Melbourne's suburban railway network from 1910 until 1984 (initially steam-hauled and then electric from 1919). Known for their timber-bodied construction, rattling windows, and distinct, manual sliding doors.
