A flong is a paper mould used in relief printing to create a duplicate metal printing plate from a page of set type.
Ron Penna was born in Bendigo in 1935. He worked at the Bendigo Advertiser newspaper as a printer from 1952 and foreman from 1968. He retired in 1995.
