Historical information
Nurse Isabel Kilpatrick graduated from St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne Training School in 1937. During the three training years, nurses wore a cap. At graduation, nurses gained their nursing or "sisters" veil or " captail". It was worn proudly as recognition of achievement and identified the sister as now a Victorian State Registered Nurse or SRN.
