Summary

Article Page 3: The Industrialist, the Trade Unions and the Judge: the Harvester Judgement of 1907 Revisited by John Lack and Charles Fahey.

This article is based upon an address to the Sunshine and District Historical Society symposium "The Harvester Judgement 1907" commemorating the Centenary of the Visy Care Hub, formerly the Bulk Store of the Sunshine Harvester works, Harvester Road, Sunshine on the 8th November 2007.

It examines the rationale for the judgement, and the provenance and nature of the evidence of housewives on which Mr Justice Higgins made his decision about what was a fair and reasonable wage.
