Postcard - Mabel Tully Collection: four novelty postcards, 1937

Mabel Beatrice Josephine Tully was born to John Patrick Tully and Mary Elizabeth Dole at White Hills on 16.07.1896.. Mabel lived in the family home at 61 Charleston Rd. Bendigo and was employed as a saleswoman until she married John (Jack) Killeen in 1925. Jack was a junior postal worker.
Mabel's father John Tully died on 11.08.1926.
In 1927 Mabel and Jack were living at 70 Abbott Street Bendigo. Mabel did home duties and Jack was employed as a postal linesman.
In 1931 Mabel and Jack were living back at 61 Charleston Rd Sandhursr East.
In 1937 Jack was working as a barman, and as a fruiterer in 1943.
Mabel's mother died 11.01.1941.
Mabel's husband Jack Killeen died on 22.06.1975 aged 79 years.
Mabel died on 7.01.1987 aged 90 years. She is buried in the White Hills Cemetery.

11123.7 A - coloured sketch shows a woman standing and singing at a piano, with a policeman peering through the window. Postcard sent with a red !! penny stamp. Postcard sent to Mrs Tully wishing her family a "Bright Xmas" and a Happy New Year (Date not defined), senders name is not clear.
Message:
Upon the piano she pounds
And makes the most deafening sounds
And the uproar that reigns
The policeman complains
Keeps him mightily awake on his rounds
11123.7 B - An advertising postcard shows a man holding his daughter in his hands. The message is "Holding My Own with the best assortment of Tasmanian Souvenirs and Novelties A. A. CAstley, Brisbane Street, Launceston, Tas. The postcard has not been mailed, but the message is addressed to Mabel.
11123.7 C - This coloured card has a sketch showing a young child and a dog smiling with the message "Cos I likes to be happy - I wish meself "Heralf" then I has a good larf - an shakes hand with meself". The rear is dated August 1937, wishing Mum many happy returns for her eightieth birthday and greetings from all at McKinnon.
11123.7 D - The postcard shows a coloured parrot with the message "I COULD SWEAR you've forgotten all about me - and that's why you don't write. The card has the simple message on the rear "From Albert to Mabel"
