Historical information

Ron Penna was born in Bendigo in 1935. He worked at the Bendigo Advertiser newspaper from 1952 as a printer and foreman from 1968. He retired in 1995.

Physical description

A cream, green and brown document on the front of which is printed, ' 1853 The Bendigo Advertiser Centenary Staff Dinner Shamrock Hotel Saturday December 5th 1953.' Inside are the menu and toasts to Her Majesty The Queen and to the Bendigo Newspapers, and a response by Col. Sir George Lansell, C.M.G., V.D. Photo of staff inside. 40 signatures inside starting with Ron Penna
