The photograph shows W6 tram 988 running a Northcote-Dundas St route 90 service at the corner of Bourke and Queen Sts, Melbourne. In the background are the then-new Prudential and Pearl Insurance buildings and a sign for Eagle Star Insurance and Dalgety. The tram has adverts for Elastoplast and Mazda lamps. Photo would have appeared in The Age, based on the label on the rear.
