Historical information

The photograph shows Conductress Nona Sharp with a Gibson Ticket Machine around her shoulders in a MMTB Uniform blouse and cap, with the cutting recording that the Footscray Depot staff were holding a strike the following day over the weight of the machine - 6lb and asking that the machines be withdrawn. This is a subsequent event to another industrial issue over the machines in Nov. 1953 - see item 8340.
