Bill THACKARY join Port Melbourne Council in 1946 working in various engineering roles completing his career at Port as City Engineer from 1968 to his retirement 1988. Bill and his wife, Hazel, spoke at the PMHPS Meeting on 27 September 2010 where he donated an Art Deco plaster frieze of a ship (Cat No 2734), salvaged from Port Melbourne Town Hall in the 1970s when the building was renovated.
