Historical information
This eight wheel tramcar was built 1914 for the Prahran and Malvern Tramways Trust. It was sold to the State Electricity Commission in 1951 for use on the Ballarat tramway system. The tram was altered to its present form in 1953 to permit one-man operation. It was modified to operate as a one man tram but limited use due to industrial bans. A conductor was used in Ballarat.
In 1954 the tram was decorated for the visit of Queen Elizabeth II.
In 1971 it was acquired by the Museum and repainted in the 1960s SEC colour scheme in 1979
