Historical information
The two storey The Hunt Club Hotel was built in 1886, replacing a much earlier single storey hotel from the 1850's, that burnt down the same year.
In 1982, the City of Sunshine purchased the historic Hunt Club Hotel and surrounding land from ICI. The building was then repurposed by the Brimbank City Council and opened in 1985 as a community arts precinct offering art classes, exhibitions, artist studios, community arts projects, a garden amphitheatre for performances and rooms for hire for community and business groups.
Significance
The Hunt Club Community Arts Centre is located in one of the few surviving 19th‑century buildings in Deer Park and surrounding district.
