Physical description

From the home of Richard and Elizabeth Courtis. Probable origin from the home of either Richard's or Elizabeth parents.
a Black lacquered (possibly wooden) box with hinged lid. Painting or print on top of the lid featuring man with black cap with red jacket and pants suggestive of a military uniform. Ruffled shirt and black cravat. Picture suggestive of early nineteenth clothing. Box possibly used to hold snuff or medicine.
b Interior of black box. There are no markings or inscriptions.
