Historical information

Air gauge of the type use in straight air braked trams to indicate to the driver the air pressure in the main air reservoir tank. Has red marks for 60 and 70 psi or pounds per square inch. Made by General Electric at their Schenectady NY works.

Significance

Demonstrates an air gauge of the type fitted to trams. Original use not known, collected by the donor from a swap meet.

Physical description

Air gauge - steel case with glass, needle and pipe - 12mm. Case has a red or chocolate paint colour.
