Historical information
Sunshine Cabinet Works began in 1920 under Scottish cabinetmaker George Mochrie, grew into one of Sunshine’s major post‑WWI industries, survived a devastating 1923 fire, expanded across multiple sites in Devonshire Road, and by the 1960s operated a huge factory on Ballarat Road employing over 200 people.
The factory closed later in the 20th century, with the Ballarat Road buildings now repurposed.
