Medals mounted together on a large badge awarded to WWII serving nurse Thelka Maitland Wells. The medals are: 1939-45 Star, Pacific Star, Defence Medal, War Medal 1939-45, Australia Service Medal [Pacific five].
Physical description
Array of five World War Two medals mounted together on a long pin. 1939-45 Star and Pacific Star are all made from yellow copper zinc alloy, with somewhat sharp 6 points. They each have a central textured design. The Defence Medal, War Medal 1939-45 and Australia Service Medal made from nickel-silver, the fronts have various central and textured designs. Their ribbons are tactile, in various colours including dark blue, red, pale blue, white, green, yellow, orange, pale green, royal blue and black. All medals are attached to a copper coloured metal bar and pin. There is also a set of matching miniatures and a WWII metal badge with two loops on the reverse and the front embossed with army, navy and airforce emblems topped with a crown and set on a boomerang, and 'RETURNED FROM ACTIVE SERVICE' in text.
