The keyring belonged to WH Greaves, former Town Clerk of the City of St Kilda.
Physical description
Silver keyring to which are attached 2 round gold medallions issued by the St Kilda City Council, and an oval brass key tag souvenir of the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. The St Kilda City Council medallions bear the City's coat of arms and, around the rim, the name of the Council inscribed in gold against a blue background. The Olympic medallion displays the Olympic rings and flame in gold against a green background.
Inscriptions & markings
The front of the medallions is inscribed 'ST KILDA CITY COUNCIL'. The back of one if them is engraved 'CENTENARY TOWN CLERK W.H. GREAVES 11th March 1957'. The back of the other is engraved 'W H GREAVES Town Clerk 1934'.
The front of the Olympic medallion is inscribed 'XVITH OLYMPIAD MELBOURNE 1956'. On the back are lines on which to record the owner's telephone number and name.
