The book records meetings of the Prahran & St Kilda United Friendly Societies' Dispensary & Medical Association from 20 May 1947 to 29 November 1974. Among its achievements, the Prahran & St Kilda UPS Dispensary & Medical Association opened 'the first combined dispensary and clinic in the British Empire', in a two-storey building in Brighton Road, opposite St Kilda Town Hall on 18 May 1940 ('Unique Dispensary' The Argus, 20 May 1940, p.6).
