This photo depicts SW6.881 at the Essendon Aerodrome terminus as part of the AETA 40-Mile Tour on 15 February 1947. Its destination sign is set to “Special.” Alongside it is W5.784 on regular service (Route 59 to City).
Significance
Depicts SW6 class tram in the 1940s as part of an AETA event, plus a W5 tram prior to modification and reclassification to a SW5 tram. A former tram terminus is depicted as well.
