Photograph of the Mt Derrimut homestead Deer Park House was built by the owner Mr James Howatson in approximately 1883 to 1884 Howatson was a gentlemen sheep farmer until his death in 1897 His wife Sarah Jane was well known for her interest in the local school Deer Park No 1434
