A photocopy of the Instrument of Surrender by the Japanese forces to the First Australian Army, recieved on board HMS Glory off Rabaul at 1130 hours, on 6th September 1945. The document is typed, and is signed by the Commander-in-Chief of the Japanese Imperial Southeastern Army, and the Lieutenant General, General Officer Commanding of the First Australian Army.
